2023 Summer Kids Camps
Ages 4 - 6
June 12th - 16th
This class is a great opportunity for young future actors to be introduced to and practice the skills of performing on stage. This includes speaking with volume, singing, moving our bodies to help tell a story, and memorization. We will also be creating a keepsake item that students will use in the performance. Over the span of one week, every morning Monday-Friday, we will meet for 1 hour to learn a short collection of songs and poems to be memorized and performed on the last day for friends and families.

This 10 day introduction to theater experience spans a 2 week period where students will learn the basics of what it means to be an actor. We will cover what an audition process is like, explain the lingo used often on-stage and backstage, introduce rehearsal expectations, and what it takes to put on a show. Participants will learn skills, such as auditioning, memorization, blocking, and vocal projection, to work in creating a youth driven on-stage performance. There will be a break during rehearsal each day so participants should provide themselves with a water bottle and if needed a snack. Participants should wear comfortable clothes they can move around in as well as closed toe shoes to rehearsal everyday. Students will be asked to provide an all black base costume (black pants, black shoes and a black t-shirt or tank-top) to be worn under their costume pieces provided by the theater during the performance

While we welcome young actors of all skill levels and abilities, this course is best suited for those who have previous acting or singing experience, as putting together a show in 3 weeks is very fun but learning the material moves very quickly. There will be a break during rehearsal each day so participants should provide themselves with a water bottle and if needed a snack.
