Masquers Theatre Young Artists
Students that participate in MTYA Programs will work together to create productions that engage audiences, and showcase skills acquired during rehearsals. These include, and are not limited to, memorization, vocal projection, stage presence, creative thinking, collaboration, moving our bodies with purpose, advanced singing techniques, acting techniques, learning and performing choreography, reactive listening, time management, and decision making.
The Little Mermaid Jr
Join us for a magical summer under the sea while we bring to life this classic fairytale through song and dance. The shortened version of this Disney animated classic offers opportunities for youth of different ages and experience levels to shine. Rehearsal materials will be provided and students should expect to spend some additional time out of class memorizing and practicing for the performance. While we welcome young actors of all skill levels and abilities, this course is best suited for those who have previous acting or singing experience. Participants should bring a water bottle and a snack and wear comfortable clothes and closed-toed shoes. Students will be asked to provide black pants, black shoes and a black t-shirt or tank top to be worn under their costume pieces during the performance and dress rehearsal. Two performances (Fri, June 27 at 3pm and 7pm) provide opportunities for family and friends to celebrate your student’s hard work and see the show!

Pirate Adventures
Join us on the vast open seas as we reimagine pirate tales. Learn the basics of what it means to be an actor including the audition process, the lingo used, rehearsal expectations and what it takes to put on a show. Learn skills such as auditioning, memorization, blocking, vocal projection, character creation and work collaboratively in creating a youth driven performance. Participants should wear closed toe shoes and comfortable clothes they can move around in and bring a snack (if needed) and a water bottle. For dress rehearsal and performance, students will need to wear an all black base costume (pants, shoes and t-shirt or tank-top) to be worn under their provided costume pieces.
